- Preeclampsia linked to cardiac death risk in women
Women who developed preeclampsia in their first pregnancy had a higher risk of death from cardiovascular disease later than those who did not have the condition, according to a study in BMJ. Single-child mothers who experienced preeclampsia also were at significantly higher risk than mothers of multiple children who developed the condition during their first pregnancy, researchers said. - More U.S. adults turn to retail clinics

- CDC data show state rates for COPD vary
CDC data showed rates of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease varied regionally, affecting less than 4% of people in Washington state and Minnesota but more than 9% in Alabama and Kentucky. The survey showed 62.5% of patients said COPD harmed their quality of life, and 50.9% reported taking at least one daily medication for the condition. United Press International

Royal Philips Electronics will introduce 15 products and features at a radiology meeting this week. The products are part of its Imaging 2.0 initiative.
