  • PERC approves or modifies four projects
    The Propane Education & Research Council agreed last month to give grants to four projects that will promote propane as a safe and reliable energy source. Among the projects is Dunlap Group's CARB certification road map project, which will promote propane as a recognized energy source in the California fuels marketplace. Gas Technology Institute will receive $50,000 for its Carbon Management Information Center Consortium project, which will develop materials to promote propane as a superior alternative to oil and electricity.   • Transocean to appeal court's insurance ruling over Gulf spill
    Transocean will appeal a federal court's decision that allowed BP to access the offshore rig contractor's insurance policies providing for at least $750 million in coverage to help pay for damages related to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
