  • Study ties St. Jude's Enlightn device to lower blood pressure
    A small study found hypertension patients who have failed to respond to medications reduced their systolic blood pressure by an average of 28 points 30 days after being treated with St. Jude Medical's Enlightn renal denervation device.   • Newly accredited Campylobacter bacteria test could be used for HAIs
    The Association of Analytical Communities has certified Invisible Sentinel's Veriflow assay, a pocket-sized device used to spot the Campylobacter bacteria commonly linked to chickens. The company says the device can also be used to detect hospital acquired infections, and while that will require FDA 510(k) clearance, a company official said the design of the Veriflow platform should expedite clearance.
