  • Tribal gaming leaders mark anniversary of Indian gaming act
Leaders of the tribal gaming industry attending the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas commemorated the upcoming 25th anniversary of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act's passage. Jason Giles, executive director of the National Indian Gaming Association, said tribal gaming has done so well because there is "strong regulation" of casinos. "That is the backbone. Tribal leaders originally didn't want IGRA. It was very restrictive. But 25 years is just a short history. We are just scratching the surface," Giles said.
