- UK mobile social users interact with brands more than they admit
Thirty-five percent of mobile users say they don't want brands communicating with them through mobile social networks, according to a poll by the Direct Marketing Association's Mobile Marketing Council. An additional 31% don't want to communicate with brands via mobile devices. Vodafone Egypt competitor Mobinil is now under the control of France Telecom, which boosted its stake to 94% in the big Egyptian carrier. The fast-growing mobile market in Egypt is seen as a crucial part of France Telecom's growth plans for Africa and the Middle East. Reuters

- Adfonic charts ad impressions on mobile operating systems
Apple's iOS and Google's Android operating systems account for 83% of ad impressions on Adfonic's global network, according to the company. Apple's numbers are boosted by the popularity of iOS devises in Europe and Asia. Android dominates in North America. - Report: Android takes near 60% share of mobile phone market
With a lot of help from Samsung devices, Android accounted for nearly 60% of all smartphones sold globally in the first quarter, according to an IDC report.
