  • Nielsen releases study on alcoholic beverage consumers
    Millennial consumers are most attentive to in-store displays and new product launches when it comes to alcoholic beverage marketing, according to a study from Nielsen Category Shopping Fundamentals, while Hispanic consumers tend to respond to pre-store tailored messaging. The study also found that consumers typically wait to purchase spirits until they have other goods to buy when planning a shopping trip.   • Owens-Brockway to receive city-county grant for expansion
    The Owens-Brockway Glass Container plant in Waco, Texas, will receive an $805,000 grant from the McLennan County Commission and the city council for an expansion that will offer benefits including increased production capacity and installation of pollution control equipment. To receive the grant, the company will add 70 full-time positions by December 2014, retain 350 full-time positions through June 2019 and make improvements worth at least $74 million.
