- Developers to present Philadelphia casino proposals in February
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has set February as the date for six developers seeking to win Philadelphia's second casino license to present their proposals to the public. "For those organizations, the public, (and) government officials who want to know firsthand about these projects, I urge them to be at the February daylong event, and each of the applicants will have ample time to unroll their projects out in a public setting," said Doug Harbach, a spokesman for the board. - Cantor Gaming agrees to offer sports wagering at Las Vegas bar
Cantor Gaming has entered into a deal to offer its sports betting services at Torrey Pines Pub in Las Vegas. The agreement, which is the second deal announced by the company this week, will allow customers at the bar to create and use an account with Cantor to place bets anywhere in the state through the company's mobile application. - Penn National pitches casino plans in Sioux City, Iowa
Penn National Gaming held an event Tuesday to present its plans for a casino in Sioux City, Iowa, that would replace the company's Argosy riverboat casino in the city. The company, which hopes to build a Hollywood-themed gaming facility, showcased movie props at the gathering. "We really wanted to capture what Hollywood means. - Owner obtains financing for Md.'s Rocky Gap casino resort
Lakes Entertainment, the parent company of Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort owner Evitts Resorts, has secured $17.5 million in financing that will be used to improve the Western Maryland resort. Plans call for the renovation of the resort's hotel rooms and lobby, and the construction of a meeting room and a casino. - Art galleries to take over first floor of Atlantic City parking garage
Atlantic City, N.J., officials have announced plans to convert the first floor of a $30 million parking garage into an art retail space, which is part of a plan to establish an arts district in the city. "Atlantic City has a tremendous arts community, but it hasn't yet been fully formed. I'd like to think that this will create the energy behind other improvements. - Sky City to spend $285 million for Adelaide Casino expansion
Sky City Entertainment Group said it would invest $285 million to upgrade its Adelaide Casino in Australia after local officials agreed to tax rate changes and approved the installation of more slot machines at the gambling facility. "After two-and-a-half years of negotiations, we are delighted to reach agreement with the South Australian Government which levels the playing field with our regional competitors," said Nigel Morrison, Sky City's chief executive.
