  • Bloomberg aims to make NYC retailers hide cigarettes
    New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg introduced a bill Monday that would require retailers to keep their cigarettes out of sight, in a measure to shield children from tobacco marketing and displays that "suggest smoking is a normal activity." He also proposed a second measure to raise penalties on merchants that sell smuggled cigarettes to evade taxes and set a minimum per-pack price of $10.50.
