- Congressional compromise increases costs for some student loans
Congress is letting two student-loan provisions expire Sunday that will boost the cost of a college education. Lawmakers have agreed that students seeking advanced degrees will no longer be eligible for federally subsidized loans. In addition, students now will be responsible for paying the interest on their federal student loans as soon as they graduate. The Washington Post

- Wells Fargo expands mobile remote deposit to more markets
Wells Fargo will debut its mobile remote deposit in three new markets, joining services already offered in Arizona and Washington. For the bank's estimated 7.7 million mobile customers, the remote deposit capture is the one they most frequently ask about, says Brian Pearce of Wells Fargo. - "Living wills" might push banks to reduce complexity
Five of the largest banks are finishing up a "living will," a plan that could top 4,000 pages to show the government how they will unwind if they fail. The exercise might prompt banks to change structurally so the hypothetical untangling is less messy. Plans must be submitted by Sunday. Reuters

- Senators press Wall Street on political intelligence
Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Mark Udall, D-Colo., have asked an industry group for details related to Wall Street firms' use of political intelligence. "Leveraging 'personal relationships' for 'confidential' clients damages public trust in the political process and raises questions about the relationships political intelligence agents attempt to cultivate in Congress," the senators wrote. - Paul gets Fed audit bill through House committee
Legislation that would require the Federal Reserve and its activities to undergo an audit by the Government Accountability Office has been approved by a House committee. Introduced by Rep.
