- Electrolux reports 2012 results
Sweden-based appliance maker Electrolux recorded a fourth quarter 2012 net sales increase of 2.9% and an overall growth for the year of 5.5%, the company reports. Strong sales in North America and Latin America helped mitigate a weak economic climate in Europe. ApplianceMagazine.com

- Report: Emerging markets home to fast-growing retailers
Emerging markets led by China accounted for 24 of the world's 50 fastest-growing retail businesses between 2006 and 2011, according to Deloitte. "Growth opportunities for many of the world’s largest retailers continue to be driven by global expansion in an attempt to make up for slow-growing or stagnant domestic markets," said Ira Kalish, director of global economics at Deloitte Services. - Banks ease credit for some types of loans, Fed says
U.S. banks are narrowing profit margins and loosening auto-loan requirements to bring in more business, the Federal Reserve says. Consumer demand for car loans is up compared with October, but home-mortgage applications are flat. Banks told the Fed that they aren't significantly relaxing credit standards for business loans or commercial real estate loans. USA Today

Paint the Show Store pink
During the International Home + Housewares Show, the Show Store is the place where attendees and exhibitors can make reservations for the Housewares Charity Foundation (HCF) or purchase tickets to the Industry Breakfast. The Show Store also sells pink products to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the HCF's legacy charity. Exhibitors are needed to donate pink product that can be sold at the Store for a nominal price -- under $20 -- all proceeds to benefit BCRF.
