  • Doctors skeptical of value-based payment, ACO execs say
Physicians have shown some reluctance to move from fee-for-service to value-based care payments, making it difficult for accountable care organizations to be fully implemented, ACO leaders say. Many executives expressed similar sentiments, but they said the shift must be made. "We believe the time to adopt value-based care transformation is now — most importantly, because it is the right thing to do, but additionally, because it is the smart thing to do financially," said Dr. Hal Teitelbaum, CEO of Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown, N.Y.
