  • Noninvasive device tightens skin, reduces fat
The TriPollar radiofrequency device warms and tightens skin to reduce the appearance of fat while an infrared camera is used to measure the heat. Results are often immediate, though five treatments are usually needed for the best outcome, Fiorillo said. (2/5) LinkedInFacebookTwitterGoogle+Email this Story
  • Immediate reconstruction may lower lymphedema risk
Nine percent of patients who had immediate post-mastectomy breast reconstruction using a flap method subsequently developed lymphedema, compared with 19% of mastectomy patients who did not have immediate reconstruction, a study of 712 South Korean women found. The healthy tissue used in reconstruction might encourage the healing of lymphatic tissue, and patients who have reconstruction might be more likely to undertake exercises that prevent lymphedema, researchers said. The study was published in the journal The Breast. The Wall Street Journal (2/4) LinkedInFacebookTwitterGoogle+Email this Story

With VECTRA 3D simulations, I can show them realistic results of the procedures they want, as seen from any angle. And when they see this, they act on it with confidence that the procedure is in their own best interest." Read more>>
