Next week, travelers passing through San Antonio International Airport will have access to the Customs & Border Protection's Global Entry program. The program will allow travelers who are registered to skip customs lines and use kiosks capable of reading their passports and scanning their faces. Qantas Airways says the airline won't roll out a program similar to a new Virgin Australia promotion, which gives most frequent fliers complimentary business-class upgrades, a spokeswoman says. - DOT fines Royal Jordanian, EgyptAir, Royal Air Maroc
The U.S. Department of Transportation has fined Royal Jordanian Airlines, EgyptAir and Royal Air Maroc over passenger-protection rules. The carriers were accused of not fully disclosing baggage fees. Royal Jordanian Airlines was also accused of breaking the full-fare advertising rule, and EgyptAir was cited over a rule that lets passengers cancel reservations 24 hours after booking without penalties.
