Boeing's plans to revamp its 777 minijumbo jet are at least a year away from being finalized, a source says. The relaunch initially had been expected by the end of this year, with jets entering service by the end of the decade. Reuters

- Atlanta airport begins expedited screening for pilots
Pilots now can participate in an expedited security screening program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The new plan will allow registered crew who meet certain security and background-check standards when hired to skip physical screenings at the airport. The program is expected to reduce wait time and make more resources available for screening passengers. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

- Aviation groups offer input on potential DOT GDS mandate
At the request of travel-agent groups, the Department of Transportation is considering a measure that would require airlines to provide information on ancillary services and related fees that come with each fare to third-party ticket distribution agencies, commonly referred to as global distribution systems. Airlines for America is forecasting nearly 24 million passengers will fly during the 2012 Thanksgiving holiday season on planes that are expected to be full, as carriers continue to more closely match available seats to demand in an effort to offset what are expected to be record annual fuel costs.
