- AIA: Business jets will lead GA sales
In a year-end report, the Aerospace Industries Association said it expects positive growth for general aviation, led by business jet sales. "While the last few years have been a challenging time for general aviation, including a major bankruptcy [Hawker Beechcraft] in this sector," the report said, "the market is still much larger than it was a decade ago, and there are few doubts that growth will resume as the world economy recovers." - Airport leads N.C.'s GA airports in economic impact
According to a report by the Division of Aviation of the N.C. Department of Transportation, Mount Airy-Surry County Airport is the state's top general aviation airport in terms of economic impact.
