Security screeners at Indianapolis International Airport discovered a suicide vest and packages of explosive powder in checked baggage last week, the Transportation Security Administration said. - TSA chief sticks to policy change allowing knives on planes
The head of the Transportation Security Administration is defending his decision to allow passengers to carry small knives aboard planes despite opposition from airline executives, pilots and flight attendants unions and lawmakers. TSA Administrator John Pistole will give testimony on the change to the House Homeland Security Committee this week. "Additional discussion is warranted before items that have been banned for more than 11 years are allowed back on aircraft," said industry group Airlines for America in a statement. CNN
