10th gun of the year found at Salt Lake City airport
Last year, Transportation Security Administration agents found 20 guns at Salt Lake City International Airport. This year, they have already identified 10 as of their latest find on Wednesday evening. The flier was cited for possessing a concealed weapon. The Salt Lake Tribune (Utah) (2/14)

TSA spots gun in Army officer's bag at Iowa airport
The Transportation Security Administration recovered a pistol that belonged to an Army captain on Wednesday at Des Moines International Airport. U.S. airlines employ fewer workers in December
U.S. airlines employed fewer workers in December 2012 than in the previous month. For December, the full-time equivalent workforce totaled 582,401, compared to 584,751 in November. The airline workforce also dropped slightly from December 2011. The Wall Street Journal/Dow Jones Newswires (2/14)

Brad Tilden, president and CEO of Alaska Airlines, said the carrier's growth in Hawaii is "sustainable." Alaska Airlines launched service to the island in 2007. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Justice plan to scrutinize the merger between US Airways and American Airlines. "Antitrust officials must ensure that an additional merger of this magnitude would not lead to higher passenger fares, result in diminished service to regional markets, or allow for coordinated conduct among rivals," said Sen.
