- Survey: PPACA is not as costly as employers had feared
Most of the 440 employers surveyed in 34 states said they have not dropped health care coverage as a result of the PPACA, and compliance costs are not as high as they had expected. - Group develops method for measuring hiring costs
A work group made of human resources professionals has developed a standard for measuring a company's cost of hiring new employees. The standard is aimed at making the financial side of the hiring process more transparent and quantifiable. The calculation divides the external and internal costs of hiring by the number of new hires during a specified time period. "The team wanted to create a standard that would be both accepted by the CFO's office and practical to implement by HR," said Jeremy Shapiro of Morgan Stanley, who chaired the work group.
