- GAMA: EU emissions trade scheme disenfranchises bizav
Business aviation advocates are closely monitoring developments regarding the EU Emissions Trading Scheme at the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal. The European Commission agreed to suspend implementation of the carbon tax for international flights in and out of the EU, but if the 2013 ICAO Assembly can't reach a global alternative, the EU plans to put ETS into effect. - With defense spending down, Bell gets a face-lift
Bell Helicopter CEO John Garrison is looking to expand the company's commercial business, with more defense spending cuts on the horizon. "Bell isn't going to be just a military company," he said. - New helicopter tourism business is set to take off in Ala.
Vision Helicopters LLC received a six-month temporary license to operate a helicopter tourism and training company based out of Jack Edwards National Airport in Alabama. "We're excited about it. I think it's something that we don't have down here. We have scenic flights but not with a helicopter and we get a lot of calls for that," said Airport Manager Jerri Thompson. AL.com (Alabama)
