    The Air Force is recruiting more psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioners to cover the needs of airmen and their families. Maj. Brian Cunningham, a mental health nurse practitioner with the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, helps Air Force personnel dealing with mental illness, a job he says gives him a clear sense of purpose.   • Texas grant supports emergency training for NPs
    The University of Texas at El Paso will help train nurse practitioners in emergency care with the help of a $787,202 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Close to 50 NP students will train at Tenet Healthcare's Sierra Providence Health Network. The grant will also support the hiring of faculty and the trauma certification of 24 Tenet NPs.
