  • SK Hynix promotes CTO to co-CEO post
    Chief Technology Officer Park Sung Wook has been promoted to co-CEO of SK Hynix, succeeding Kwon Oh Chul, the chipmaker said. "The memory chip market is facing various inflection points, including an industrywide reshuffle," Hynix said in a statement.   • Infineon will make power ICs on former Qimonda fab line
    Infineon Technologies announced that it will produce power transistors with thinner wafers on a 300-millimeter wafer fabrication line where its former Qimonda subsidiary once made memory chips. "[The] 300-mm thin-wafer manufacturing for power semiconductors will enable us, with the corresponding demand, to seize the opportunities that the market offers," Infineon CEO Reinhard Ploss said.
