  • Congressional hearings on Medicare changes are set this week
    Three congressional committees will hold hearings this week on Medicare benefits as well as parts of the Affordable Care Act designed to make Medicare more effective. A House Ways and Means subcommittee will concentrate on Medicare's fee-for-service model, the Senate Special Committee on Aging will look for options to improve the program's financing and the Senate Finance Committee will assess ACA programs that are meant to reduce Medicaid and Medicare costs.     The FDA rejected a citizen petition filed by Reckitt Benckiser that was aimed at keeping generic-drug-makers from launching copies of Reckitt's Suboxone opioid dependence treatment.
