U.S. restaurant guests spent slightly more on non-meat dishes than meals with meat and seafood last year, but orders for protein-based dishes grew at a faster rate, according to an analysis from GuestMetrics. Many middle-aged Americans are supporting their adult children financially while also taking care of their own elderly parents, according to a survey. Golf course superintendents should to embrace water-saving technology and manage their water resources effectively to save money and one of the world's most valued resources, said Charles Fishman at Rain Bird's 2013 Intelligent Use of Water Summit. "We have the tools we need (for smart water use)," he said. "What we need is the leadership (to use them). You save a little on water and then there's a cascade of savings that goes along with it.
