ITA Software, which develops travel tools for Orbitz Worldwide and Microsoft, among others, reportedly could be acquired by Google. - Just 8% of top websites make anti-fraud "honor roll"
In a study of major online retail sites, Fortune 500 sites and U.S. government sites by the Online Trust Alliance, just 8% were found to be devoid of malware, to have taken measures against phishing and to have sufficient data encryption practices in place. Newegg, Apple and Blue Nile were among the few sites that made the cut. "While major corporations, banks, governmental agencies and industry working groups talk about best practices, the majority are failing to adopt, risking demands for added regulations," OTA's Craig Spiezle said.
