  • Kachi offers $4.3 million for bankrupt chain Tully's
    Boulder-based private equity firm Kachi Partners has put in a bid to acquire distressed Seattle-based coffee chain Tully's for $4.3 million. Tully's parent company, TC Global, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October and was forced to close 19 stores. Kachi plans to operate the remaining 47 locations in California and Washington under the Tully's name.     The American Heart Association has issued a scientific statement that says social media may become an important tool for fighting childhood obesity, but it noted that evidence from intervention studies to date is inconclusive.
