- Coca-Cola partners with HSN to sell branded merchandise
Coca-Cola is promoting more than 275 Coke-branded items in partnership with HSN as it looks to extend a licensing business that brings annual sales of $1 billion. The multiyear partnership, which will see the products promoted on the HSN cable channel as well as online and on mobile devices and social media, should last through the holidays. - Sephora smells sweet success in Latin America
Cosmetic and fragrance retailer Sephora has seen greater-than-expected success with its first stores in Mexico and Brazil, and the company now plans to open about 50 new stores in Latin America in the next four years. “In 2014 we will start looking at the other big markets after Mexico and Brazil and this could include Argentina, Colombia and Chile,” said executive Paula Larroque. - U.S. consumers face holidays with cautious optimism
American consumers are seeing their home values and wages rise, but concerns about the "fiscal cliff" and the overall economy are countering the optimism and tempering plans for holiday spending, according to a CNBC survey. Shoppers are expected to spend an average of $742 on gifts this year, up from the $740 they spent last year, according to NRF data. CNBC

- Off-the-rack is out as more men suit up
Young men are dressing up in droves, driving a shift away from off-the-rack and toward more tailored suits, slimmer sports jackets and more customized looks that mix dressy and casual pieces. Retailers are catching on, and some are leading the change, including J.Crew, which launched its Ludlow suit in 2008 and merchandises it next to Levi's jeans. - Domino's chief to explain calorie posting challenges
Pizza chains face additional challenges when it comes to complying with the calorie-posting requirements soon to come under the Affordable Care Act. "There are 33 million ways to sell a Domino’s Pizza, so coming up with a way to put calories in a menu for 33 million varieties is a little bit difficult," said Domino's CEO J.
