  • Tanning survey finds evidence of young customers, bad info
Researchers surveyed operators at 243 indoor tanning facilities in Missouri and found that almost two-thirds of them said they would accept preteens as customers, sometimes without needing consent from parents. Of all the respondents, 43% said there were no health risks linked to indoor tanning, while 80% said that tanning could help avoid sunburns later in life. The findings appear in the journal Pediatrics. Reuters (2/25) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story

"There's a real therapeutic need for a treatment that can be used to treat moderate-to-severe acne that doesn't involve Accutane," said Eastern Virginia Medical School dermatology professor Dr. David Pariser, who is leading a study of a photodynamic acne therapy.
