  • Construction begins on Downtown Grand hotel in Las Vegas
Work has begun in Las Vegas on the former Lady Luck casino hotel, which will reopen as the Downtown Grand hotel when the renovation of 650 rooms and construction of a casino and retail spaces is completed next year. Downtown3rd, the district around the property, will include entertainment, dining and retail options. "It's happening. We're creating a neighborhood, not just a hotel-casino. Las Vegas doesn't have a true pedestrian center, something that's authentic, which complements the bars and restaurants on East Fremont," Fifth Street Gaming CEO Seth Schorr said.
