- Hotel transactions pace may pick up in 2013, brokers say
The volume of hotel transactions this quarter showed steady growth across the U.S. and will likely continue to gain momentum in 2013, several hotel brokers say. "We're seeing a lot of continued buyer interest. We're seeing a lot greater investor interest [and] lender interest. - Shangri-La Hotels supports panda rescue in China
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has contributed to planting bamboo in China's Sichuan province for a new panda center that will rescue elderly and sick pandas. Shangri-La Hotel Chengdu plans to give guests access to the center, which will open in 2013, so they can take educational tours and prepare food for the animals. "Through planting bamboo, the panda's food source, we are proud to make a lasting, sustainable, high-impact contribution," said Patricia Gallardo, Shangri-La's director of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
