  • USA chiefs: Comedy, reality series will help net stay on top
USA Network co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel discuss the network's plans to bolster its slate of procedural dramas with sitcoms and reality shows in this interview. The changes are meant to help USA, the top-rated ad-driven entertainment channel for the past seven years, stay on top. "We've built such a strong brand, so what we need to do is not make a 180, what we need to do is move the brand forward and advance the brand," McCumber said. Chevrolet by this summer will start airing a new round of humorous workplace-based ads for its "Under the Blue Arch" campaign meant to portray dealers in a more positive light. The ads, which are similar in tone to NBC's "The Office," will deploy Chevy's new tagline, "Find New Roads." "We've built up some great equity with 'Under the Blue Arch' that we don't want to lose," Chevy marketing chief Chris Perry said. "We've established a look and feel of the dealership that is seen by the consumer as inviting and less scary." • W+K spot to intro relieves the vacation pressure
A $35 million campaign for the travel site shows "the delight of right" -- when the person booking a trip has made the right decision, says Mark Bernath, an executive creative director at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam. The comedy spot shows various groups of travelers arriving at far-flung destinations with trepidation about whether their accommodations will be fine, then celebrating when they are heroes.
