    Redbox Instant by Verizon, the new joint service from Coinstar's Redbox and Verizon Communications, will launch in time for the holiday season. The service, which offers subscription streaming, movie sales and rental services, as well as DVDs in kiosks, is undergoing testing by about 500 Verizon workers at their homes.   • Roku to debut $100 Streaming Stick, signs deal with Vudu
    Roku next month plans to roll out its Streaming Stick, priced at $99.99, which will plug into the back of television sets to provide over-the-top video content. The USB-like wireless device uses Mobile High-Definition Link technology, which is expected to be available on more TV models by the end of this year. Roku also struck a deal with Wal-Mart's Vudu video-streaming service to offer more than 100,000 pay-per-view titles through its set-top boxes.
