Men with type 2 diabetes had a 39% increased risk of periodontitis onset than those without the disease, according to a study based on data from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study. - Metformin outperforms glipizide in preventing CVD events in diabetes
Long-term metformin treatment was associated with fewer cardiovascular events than glipizide therapy in type 2 diabetes patients with a history of coronary artery disease, according to a study in Diabetes Care. Many frustrated physicians are likely to abandon Medicare this year over its unpredictable funding despite the decision to delay for one year a cut in Medicare payments for doctors, according to medical associations and physicians.
