  • Higher fetuin-A rates may increase heart risk in diabetes
Higher levels of fetuin-A protein, which halts arterial calcification and insulin action, were associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease in older patients without diabetes, a study indicated. However, type 2 diabetes patients who had higher fetuin-A levels exhibited a non-significant increase in CVD risk, researchers reported in Diabetes Care.
