  • Mississippi's Magnolia Bluffs Casino officially opens
    Officials of the Magnolia Bluffs Casino in Natchez, Miss., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the city's second casino on Tuesday. Natchez Mayor Butch Brown lauded the design of the new 45,000-square-foot gaming facility, which houses 580 slot machines, 27 poker games and 10 table games.   • MGM presents plans for park to Springfield, Mass., commission

  • Developer is considering possible casino for Mass. fairgrounds
    Springfield, Mass., Town Councilor Brian J. Griffin has said that real estate developer Richard D. Bronson is considering building a casino that would be managed by Hard Rock International at the city's Eastern States Exposition fairgrounds. "It is my understanding the Eastern States Exposition leadership has sought the advisory services of the Bronson Companies on the topic of a resort-style gaming project," Griffin said.   • Macau casinos expected to take in $3.4B in December
    A Citi Group report projects Macau casinos' December revenue will be about $3.4 billion, which is 17% higher when compared with revenues in the same month last year. "Total daily gross gaming revenues run rate equated to MOP834 million/day [$104.5 million], lower than the MOP993 million/day [$124.4 million] achieved in prior week (probably aided by high hold) but still above the year-to-date average of MOP824 million/day [$103.2 million]," Citi said.
