Rep. Thompson urges TSA to reconsider lifting ban on small knives
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, said the Transportation Security Administration should get more input before allowing small knives to be carried on planes. "I am very concerned by TSA's decision to modify its prohibited items list and allow knives and other carry-ons that can be used as weapons through airport security," Thompson said in a statement. Delta Air Lines increases service options

FAA notifies employees of required furlough days
The Federal Aviation Administration has notified employees that they will have to take 11 furlough days for 2013 due to sequestration. Sen. McCaskill plans bill to expand use of electronic devices on flights
Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., plans to introduce legislation to allow passengers to use personal electronic devices during all phases of flight. The bill would not apply to cell phones, but would include iPads, tablets, music players and other devices. Politico (Washington, D.C.) (3/7)
