    MGM Resorts International, which has completed the installation of Cisco Systems' network at four of its casinos in Las Vegas, said it will start offering free Wi-Fi at the gaming facilities.   • Ground work for Penn National's Ohio racino begins
    Work has begun to prepare a site in Ohio for Penn National Gaming's racino. The gaming company, which plans to relocate its Beulah Park racetrack to Austintown, has not yet received approval from the state racing commission. "We're ready to go in terms of construction.   • Supporters of proposed Iowa casino push for March referendum
    The Cedar Rapids Development Group, a group that supports a casino project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has submitted more than 16,000 signatures in support of a referendum to the Linn County Board of Supervisors. The group wants to place the initiative up for vote on March 5 through a special election. "Really it's an endorsement of what this venue is all about, the economic activity and the creation of jobs, and something that could be a meaningful part of Linn County," said Steve Gray, an investor who is spearheading the group.   • MGM's $2.5B Macau casino project wins government approval
    MGM Resorts subsidiary MGM China received approval for its $2.5 billion casino project on Macau's Cotai Strip from the government Wednesday. In October, the company said it would give the government an initial payment of $56.4 million for a land concession contract. MGM plans to open the casino in 2016.     The Sioux City, Iowa, City Council is discussing a proposed budget for capital development that would include $25 million for infrastructure improvement to create a downtown casino.
