Only those who are in good standing and who have paid their 2017 membership dues can attend the NASBP 75th Anniversary Celebration at the NASBP Annual Meeting & Expo. NASBP March 28 Virtual Seminar: "Is a Mentor Program Right for Your Contractor Client?"

Presenter Lori Ann Lange, a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of the law firm of Peckar & Abramson, will address the qualifications for being a mentor or a protege, the application process for applying to the program, and the benefits of mentor-protege relationships. NASBP Legislative Fly-in to feature NASBP Family Day and panel of legislators addressing infrastructure spending

Plan to attend the 2017 NASBP Legislative Fly-in, which will be held June 6 and 7. New for 2017 is the NASBP Family Day, held Tuesday, June 6, for attendees who would like to bring their children to experience the workings of government. Family Day includes breakfast, followed by tours of important landmarks in Washington, D.C. Also, new this year is a roundtable panel of key policymakers providing insight into the much-anticipated large infrastructure spending package. The panel will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, in Room 121 of the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill, where invited guests include House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster, R-Pa.; House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit Chairman Sam Graves, R-Mo. (confirmed); and Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa. (confirmed), who serves on Transportation and Infrastructure's Subcommittee on Aviation. NASBP is seeking to secure a Democrat from the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well. More information is coming soon. Registration for the Fly-in is open. What Does the Future Hold for Lease Accounting?

Angell Surety School offers expert and comprehensive training for surety professionals with varying levels of knowledge and expertise. This prestigious education program provides an opportunity to establish professional relationships with industry peers. Three different sessions will be offered in Dallas from July 30 to Aug. 4. Level I will provide an introduction to the surety industry and familiarization with the function and process of bonding. Level II will provide an understanding of producer, surety and contractor relationships, plus techniques for gathering contractor information and preparation of the case submission to the surety. Level III is designed for experienced bond producers and underwriters with at least five years of surety industry experience.
