After Ebola misdiagnosis, Texas system modifies screening, EHR platform

Texas Health Resources confirmed in a congressional meeting last week that it modified its Epic EHR system and changed its screening process after a patient with Ebola was misdiagnosed at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Daniel Varga, Texas Health Resources' senior executive vice president and chief clinical officer, said the EHR now makes a patient's travel history accessible to every caregiver from the beginning of the patient's visit in the ED.
