Hackers steal personal data of 4.5M from Community Health Systems

Nonmedical patient information for 4.5 million people was stolen from Tennessee-based Community Health Systems by a hacker group originating outside the U.S., the company disclosed in a regulatory filing today. The company said the hackers appeared to originate in China and used advanced malware to obtain patient data including names, birth dates and Social Security numbers.
