Experimental device offers new hope to CHF patients

SCAI SmartBrief | Jan 06, 2015

Congestive heart failure patient Tom Desmond is getting his life back after being implanted with the Parachute, a device that blocks off the injured part of the heart, as part of a clinical trial. FDA approval of the device will give new hope to similar patients whose current options are limited, according to interventional cardiologist Dr. Joseph Gelormini of the Buffalo Heart Group. The practice is one of dozens of trial sites across the U.S. WIVB-TV (Buffalo, N.Y.) (01/05)
