With new broadband service, Hughes eyes DSL rivals

SBCA SmartBrief | Mar 07, 2017

Hughes Network Systems on March 16 will introduce a broadband service aimed at the 18 million US homes either without high-speed internet service or using slow dial-up technology. The company hopes the satellite-based HughesNet Gen5, which will offer downlink speeds of up to 25 megabits per second, will win favor with homes that are stuck with slower, copper-based DSL systems.
