Survey: Black Friday shopper traffic soared across channels

About 154 million Americans shopped over the long Thanksgiving weekend, up from 151 million last year, but average per-person spending in stores and online dipped 3.5% to $289.19 as consumers sought sales: 36% spent only on discounted goods this year, up from 11% last year, according to an NRF survey.
