Coming soon to an office near you: Teledentistry

NADP SmartBrief | Jun 30, 2016

The US military developed teledentistry in the 1990s for the treatment of personnel without access to a dentist, and the technology might be offered more widely to the public soon, experts say. Teledentistry allows dental therapists and hygienists to perform procedures in schools, nursing homes and community centers under the supervision of a dentist at another location. Legislation that took effect in California last year requires Medi-Cal to cover teledentistry. Workforce online (06/24)
