Dentists change prescribing behavior after seeing Rx report card

Dentists in the UK prescribed fewer antibiotics after receiving a record of their monthly antibiotic prescribing rates, and those who also received a written outline of prescribing recommendations reduced their prescribing rate more. The approach, described in PLOS Medicine, offers a "relatively straightforward, low-cost public health and patient safety intervention," the researchers wrote. HealthDay News (08/30)
