Okla. provider refuses to pay ransom for stolen patient data

Unauthorized external access to Saint Francis Health System's server led to the theft of about 6,000 names and addresses of patients, hospital officials confirmed. The Oklahoma health care provider received a ransom demand for the patient data, but officials decided not to pay because it wouldn't guarantee that the information would not be disclosed, according to a Saint Francis news release.
