Lawmakers aim to dismantle CFPB

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, declared his intention to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau after two fellow Texas Republicans, Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. John Ratcliffe, introduced a bill last week to close the agency. Hensarling described the CFPB as a "rogue agency" and said Congress "would be derelict in our duty if we didn't do something about it." CNBC (02/16)
