CMS drafts rule to shorten MU attestation period in 2015, 2016

CHIME's Healthcare CIO SmartBrief | Apr 14, 2015

The CMS has proposed a rule that would shorten the attestation period for Medicaid and Medicare EHR meaningful use to 90 days instead of one year. According to the agency's proposal, the 90-day period will be applicable to all MU participants in 2015, while the shortened period will only apply to new participants in 2016. A yearlong EHR reporting period will apply to all providers beginning in 2017, under the rule. BeckersHospitalReview.com (04/10)
