FCC OKs new Globalstar scheme for wireless broadband

Federal regulators have given Globalstar permission to move forward with its plan to provide terrestrial-based wireless broadband service using the satellite company's 11.5 MHz of spectrum adjacent to the 2.4 GHz band. The Federal Communications Commission approved a modified version of the proposal Globalstar initially submitted in 2012. Computerworld (12/23)
