AWHONN SmartBrief | Sep 12, 2014

A report in the journal Policy, Politics & Nursing Practice found almost 18% of new registered nurses departed their first jobs within a year, and 34% left within two years. The RN Work Project study was supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. It found that large hospitals can incur up to $6.4 million in RN turnover costs, although hospitals kept new RNs at higher rates than other settings. BeckersHospitalReview.com (09/05)
