Calif. tech firm develops low-cost gas-to-liquids conversion

California-based Siluria Technologies has developed a catalytic conversion of natural gas into liquids, such as diesel and gasoline, CEO Edward Dineen said last week. The low-cost method uses a catalyst in creating ethylene from methane and another catalyst in converting ethylene into liquids, he said. Dineen hopes to commercialize the technology by 2017.
