Study confirms team approach for treating diabetic foot

Advanced Tissue SmartBrief | Jun 25, 2014

Two studies presented at the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions in San Francisco confirmed that a uniform, team-based multidisciplinary program can reduce amputations and mortality for persons suffering from diabetic foot wounds. The 10-year review at the Denver Health Medical Center found that a comprehensive limb-salvage program reduced amputations dramatically. The U.S. National Diabetic Foot Registry, which will track what approaches do and do not work, will launch this year. Medscape (free registration) (06/20)
