Children with NAS more likely to have poor educational outcomes

Researchers examined test results of youths with neonatal abstinence syndrome in New South Wales, Australia, during the third, fifth and seventh grades and found significantly lower average scores among those with NAS compared with those without the syndrome. The findings in Pediatrics showed that seventh-graders with NAS had lower scores than fifth-graders without the condition. Physician's Briefing/HealthDay News (01/16)
